Browser Info

Recommended Web Settings

To insure your viewing pleasure on BronxWorld, we recommend that you use the most current version of your browser.

While we recommend Microsoft's Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher, our site is also designed to be compatible with Netscape 4.0+. We cannot guarantee that all features will work with all of the browsers available today.

BronxWorld.Com may also not be fully compatible with WebTV or similar programs. (In Internet Explorer, a "Medium" font setting is also recommended.)

Note to AOL Users

In order to enjoy the full complement of features on BronxWorld, we encourage all visitors from America Online to modify their settings or use a browser other than that provided within the AOL software. AOL, and other ISPs, cache the content of the web to give you slightly faster access to the web's pages. The problem with this is that you might not always be viewing the most up-to-date version of BronxWorld.Com.

To ensure this isn't happening to you, be sure to do the following in the AOL window:

Click on "My AOL"

Next Click "Preferences"

Next Click "WWW"

Next Click on "Settings" under the section "Temporary Internet Files"

Make sure that "Every visit to the page" is checked.

Additionally, while connected to AOL, you can surf the web with the most advanced web browsers other than the one AOL provides. Most often, this software will already exist on your computer or it can be downloaded from Netscape or Microsoft. Then, while connected to AOL, open Internet Explorer or Netscape and connect to your favorite site...BronxWorld.Com, of course. As you know, AOL may prompt you occasionally to stay connected, if idled to long. Most browser panels overlay the AOL panel.

Enhanced Images

We also encourage you to "tweak" the quality of your graphics. Normally, using AOL's browser, you may see that images are a little blurry or otherwise impaired. To eliminate this for better viewing, click on "My AOL" from the AOL navigation bar, then click

"Preferences", followed by "WWW" and then go to the item "Web Graphics". Once there, uncheck "Use compressed graphics" if it is checked. This should allow for better viewing. You may notice that it takes slightly longer for some pages to load, but this will insure that you are getting the most current page on the site.

Color Images on the Web

Not all of the colors possible in an image can be faithfully reproduced on a web page.

Of the many colors that may exist in an original artwork, a web page background or a graphic, there are only so many colors that can be interpreted and transmitted electronically. These are called "Safe Colors".

We have placed a "Test Page" with which you can adjust your monitor for best viewing.

You can find it on the site list on our Home Page.

Web Page Text

Depending on the browser you are using even text will default to a font more acceptable to your browser in relation to the fonts already installed on your computer.

(In Internet Explorer, a "Medium" font setting is also recommended.)

We hope the information provided will help make your visit more enjoyable and improve your view sort of speak.

In any case, we are always interested in hearing from anyone viewing BronxWorld.Com and telling us about any problems they may be having in regard to viewing our site: Webmaster@BronxWorld.com
